Click below to learn more about our different profiles:

Square edge skirting is a sleek, minimalist design for a modern look.

Torus skirting is ideal for a traditional space or a home interior with minimal decor and plenty of focus on the foundational materials.

Ogee skirting looks rather like it was built with Grecian pillars in mind, owing to its tall profile with a subtle rounded structure towards the top of the skirting. A low intensity addition to a modern home.

Pencil round skirting is also known as ‘bullnose’ or ‘round one edge’, it features a soft, rounded top edge for a clean yet subtle look.

Lambs tongue skirting boasts a staggered side profile with angular edges, which create a refined border around the outskirts of your room.

Chamfered skirting makes for a modern, contemporary, minimalist style.

Ovolo skirting is the next step away from one of the classic square edged standard profiles. The light curve towards the top of the skirting serves to soften the room slightly.

Our bespoke skirtings are an extensive range of different styles to choose from or to create from a CAD drawing or physical sample.

Walnut Skirting Board FAQs
How are skirting boards attached?

Skirting boards can be fixed to walls in a few different ways, depending on the wall type and the finish you want.

Common methods:

  • Screws and wall plugs: Ideal for solid masonry walls. Pre-drill, plug, and screw the board in place. Screw heads can be filled for a smooth finish.
  • Nails: Best for stud walls. Locate the studs and nail through the skirting into the timber behind the plasterboard.
  • Adhesive: Suitable for most walls, especially when aiming for a clean look with no visible fixings. Apply construction adhesive and press firmly into place.

Tip: It's common to use adhesive for strength, and a couple of nails just to hold the board while the adhesive sets.

Are skirting boards necessary?

Skirting boards aren’t required, but they’re very common because they offer both practical and decorative benefits.

Practical benefits:

  • Protects walls: Reduces scuffs and marks from vacuums, furniture and everyday use.
  • Hides gaps: Covers the natural expansion gap between the wall and floor for a clean finish.
  • Maintains structure: Floors expand and contract over time; skirting keeps this space hidden without affecting performance.

Aesthetic benefits:

  • Gives a room a neat, finished look.
  • Helps visually blend the floor and wall for a balanced appearance.
Do wooden skirting boards warp?

Similar to any natural wooden product, wooden skirting has the potential to become warped if it is left unfitted, which is why we will always recommend immediate installation upon receipt of your skirting board.

What are the benefits of skirting boards?

Skirting boards protect walls from scuffs, conceal gaps, and enhance a room’s visual appeal.
