Avon Timber Merchants is now closed for the festive holidays until our return on Friday, 2nd January 2026, reopening at 8:00 AM.

 

All orders placed on our website will be processed and delivered as soon as possible after our return in January 2026.

The quoting system remains available to use, however, it will not be monitored during the closure. Requests will be reviewed and processed promptly upon our return.

• BESPOKE CRAFTSMANSHIP: Expertly machined by our partner machinist, our solid timber skirting boards are crafted from high-quality AMERICAN WHITE OAK for a bespoke touch in your home.

• NATURAL MATERIAL: Sourced from premium American Oak, our oak skirting boards showcase a NATURAL GRAIN PATTERN and boast a SMOOTH MACHINED FINISH, providing an elegant look that complements any interior.

• CUSTOM LENGTHS: While our unprocessed oak typically arrives in lengths between 2.4m - 3.9m, you can REQUEST SPECIFIC LENGTHS to suit your project needs using the dropdown box above, although we must emphasise that we cannot guarantee you specific length request.

• PROFESSIONALLY MACHINED: The smooth machined finish ensures your skirting boards are READY FOR YOUR CHOICE OF FINISH, adding a touch of sophistication to your space. Please note that the machining process will slightly reduce the overall size of your selected nominal size by approximately 5mm in both width and thickness, hence why we add the approximate finish size of the skirting board in brackets.

• NATURAL APPEAL: As a natural product, each section may exhibit unique GRAIN PATTERNS, NATURAL FIGURING, and some small pin knots, which adds to the character of each skirting boards.

As with all solid timber, minor imperfections such as small splits or shakes can occasionally occur at the ends of a length. For this reason, we recommend allowing approximately 300mm of additional material beyond the finished requirement, providing sufficient allowance to trim back and achieve the best possible final result.

    • Approx. 7 working days: Planed Hardwoods (Un-joined piece with Square Edges only) and any MDF Window board that requires bespoke resizing
  • Standard Delivery: Items up to 3 m are automatically calculated at checkout. For longer lengths, please request a quote via [email protected].
  • Delivery Days: Weekdays only (Monday–Friday, "Working Days").

    • Approx. 12–15 working days: Skirting, Architrave, Door Lining Sets, Windowboards (excluding MDF), External Cladding, Wide Planed Hardwood (Requiring joining), Stair Parts, Non-stocked Saige brand products, Veneered Sheet Materials
    • Approx. 3–5 working days: MDF Products, stocked items in 'Merchant Products' (including core treated/untreated timbers), Decking, Timber and Concrete Fencing products, Planed Redwood, Pine Cladding, Flooring, Mouldings, Sheet Materials (excluding Veneered), OSMO products
    • Approx. 7 working days: Planed Hardwood (Un-joined piece with Square Edges only) and any MDF Window board that requires bespoke resizing
  • Doors:
    • Shown as “In Stock” based on XL Joinery availability; stock levels are not live and may occasionally change
    • Not held in our yard – delivery only via XL Joinery
    • Typical delivery: 3–5 working days if in stock at XL Joinery
    • If urgent, contact us before ordering to confirm availability
  • For mixed orders, the longest lead time applies. Delivery times exclude weekends and Bank Holidays.
